General Manager Western Europe

Danitis is looking for a General Manager Europe for an international broker in the financial sector.
With 5000 employees and a presence in over 20 countries, this group is one of the biggest players in the interbank brokerage sector.


Le poste :   

Commercial
  • Oversee and lead the business reporting up to the CEO of Global Brokerage, in terms of setting product / people strategy and P&L oversight
  • Provide the Product Directors with any strategic input pertinent to the markets.
  • Evaluate profitability by office and by country and make recommendations for cost efficiencies and business improvements, in liaison with the CEOs and Product Directors
  • Strong ability for business development
Regulation, Risk and Compliance, Governance
  • Ensure the Region is run to be risk and regulatory compliant
  • Accountable and responsible for maintaining constructive relationships with regional and/or country specific regulators
  • Accountable to ensure the governance model is working effectively in support of the Group's governance model (committees, forums, and all decision making bodies);
  • Prepare material and attend any such Board Meeting or Committee Meeting as is required for the proper discharge of duties
  • Be proactive and deliver thorough risk management driving behaviors which comply with policies;
  • Ensure that you and your team are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility;
  • Take responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of policies, processes, systems and controls as required by the Risk function and the Policy Owners
Conduct, Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Set the tone on the Area, be proactive and encourage behaviors which comply with policy;
  • Own Conduct and Culture, setting the Tone from the Top, ensuring proactive communications and employee engagement.
  • Lead the Employee Engagement and Culture forums including Diversity & Inclusion and drive any associated actions and communications.
  • Provision of leadership and direction to all staff in order to maintain high levels of awareness, motivation, engagement and morale;
  • Establish an environment that promotes respect for individuals and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Company;
  • Maintain employees competence by ensuring that employees' skills or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development as required in order to perform their roles to their maximum capability;
Profil recherché :  
  • Must have : experience in investment strategies for corporates, institutional investors, private banks and financial advisors, Financial sector only.
  • Experienced people leader in a fast-growing business - more than 20 years of experience
  • A natural collaborator, someone who works effectively and easily across the network, builds and maintains strong stakeholder support;
  • Takes a hands-on approach when required, equally comfortable directing and supporting others to achieve objectives;
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and driven with strong personal work ethic to bring positive energy to the team;
  • Outstanding commercial acumen and ability to contribute to major strategic decisions on an ongoing basis (investment, diversification, etc.)
  • An outstanding leader with the stature and gravitas to be immediately credible and accepted at all levels of the organization;
  • A trusted, commercially business partner of unquestionable integrity, judgment and values;
  • Strong listening skills, willingness to understand all the facts in a situation before judging is essential;
  • A proactive, natural and concise communicator;
  • Fluent English / French at least...
